
CEO & FOUNDER Mat Digmann
Mat Digmann is an award winning artist and author turned publisher after witnessing first hand the conditions for artists in the publishing business. Mat founded Buena Gente 22.2.22 with the ambition of creating an independent, underground, artist-run and activist publishing house for everyone usually excluded from literary circles and highbrow art.

EDITOR W. Jamaal Wright
W. Jamaal Wright is Assistant Professor of Geography at the University of Florida. His research interests include art history, critical theories of space, and black geographies/studies. He is a recipient of an Andy Warhol Arts Writers Grant, a Ford Foundation Predoctoral Fellowship, and a Glenda Laws Award from the American Association of Geographers. His writing has been published in the City & Society, Sugarcane Magazine, and the Vielmetter Los Angeles. In 2021, he co-curated Project Row Houses “Round 52: Gulf Coast Anthropocene." His manuscript in progress, "Valorizing the Void: Place and Public Art in Houston's Third Ward", is a historical geography of black contemporary art and uneven geographical development in Houston, Texas.
